About Shannon

What should I know about a military spouse who became a real estate agent?

Moving is never just about a house. It is about leaving behind what is familiar and building something new in a place you may not yet know. As a Navy veteran's wife and mom, I have seen firsthand how meaningful — and how overwhelming — that transition can be for military families. Virginia is home to more than 10 major military installations, and the Richmond metro area alone has a median home price of around $430,000 with homes averaging about 25 days on market.

That is exactly why I earned my Military Relocation Professional (MRP) certification and why I am so passionate about helping military families. Having lived all around the Southside and Hampton Roads areas down to Virginia Beach, I developed a deep, personal familiarity with these neighborhoods and military installations — from Fort Gregg-Adams (which trains over 70,000 soldiers annually) to Joint Base Langley-Eustis (supporting more than 9,000 staff). I know the local lifestyles, school systems, and commute patterns on both sides of the water.

Because of my firsthand experience living in the region, I can fully assist clients relocating to any of those Southside bases on the other side of the tunnels — including JEB Little Creek-Fort Story, NAS Norfolk, NAS Oceana, Portsmouth, and Suffolk installations. I want to be the person who makes your transition easier — someone who understands the PCS timeline, the pressure of remote house hunting, and how to successfully coordinate a move when crossing the water.

My clients know me as someone who listens first, communicates clearly, and genuinely cares about the outcome. Whether you are dealing with first-time home buying, new construction, acreage, or selling a beloved property, my approach is the same: keep you informed, keep you at ease, and make sure you feel confident in every decision. In Virginia, buyer closing costs typically run 2% to 5% of the purchase price, and VA loans can mean $0 down payment — details I make sure you understand before you make any decisions. I am proud to have earned the 2025 Silver Award from Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate for exceeding $3 million in sales — a milestone driven entirely by the trust my clients place in me. Many of my clients become lifelong friends, and that is what it is all about.

What I Stand For

What makes working with a military spouse different from other agents?

Military-First Mindset

As a Navy veteran's wife and mom, I understand the unique needs of service members and their families — the timelines, the urgency, and the importance of finding the right community. My MRP certification puts that understanding to work for you.

Personal Connection

I do not see clients as transactions. Many of my clients become lifelong friends. Every relationship matters, and I invest in each one personally.

Informed & At Ease

My goal is to keep you informed at every step so you always feel confident. No surprises, no confusion — just clear communication from start to finish.

Rooted in Community

As a Navy veteran's wife and mom, this community is my home too. Having lived all around the Southside, Hampton Roads, and down to Virginia Beach, I know the neighborhoods, schools, and bases on both sides of the tunnels intimately.

In Her Own Words
"I have watched military families navigate the challenge of starting fresh in a new place, wondering if they will ever feel at home. I want every family I work with to know that feeling — of finally arriving somewhere that fits."

How do bridge-tunnel commutes affect where I should live in Virginia?

Crossing the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel during rush hour can turn a 15-minute commute into 90 minutes — so where you buy matters as much as what you buy. Whether you are months away from a PCS move or just beginning to explore your options, I would love to hear from you.
